The work for this rail-line started in 1926 mostly because of major thermal plants in this region. Three years later this 165 km. long route was opened to rail-traffic. The entire route commands beautiful views of nature and unveils Himachali culture. Colorful Paddy fields on the way to Jogindernagar from Baijnath...Jogindarnagar is at one corner of the Joginder Nagar Valley located in the north western ranges of the Himalayas.
