Wat Chedi Luang is probably the most popular temple in Chiang Mai town of Thailand and Wat Phra Singh is equally important as well as close by. And like Wat Chedi Lunag, Wat Phra Singh is also a cluster of temples in Chinag Mai. Phra Singh is an abbreviated form of Phra-Put-Tha-Shi-Hing. It was same day when we visited Wat Chedi Luang and few other temples around Chedi Luang. Chiang Mai is full of beautiful temples all around but Chedi Luang and Phra Singh are special because of history associated.

The temple library is another prime example of classical Lanna architecture and it is one of the most beautiful temple libraries in Thailand, which is located in Chinag Mai temple Wat Chedi Luang.

Wat Phra Singh is located close to Wat Chedi Lunag and nearby old city of Chiang Mai in Thailand. The main entrance is guarded by lions. Wat Pra Singh is situated at the end of the main street of Chiang Mai, where Sunday market takes place.

Wihan Lai Kham is the main attraction of the complex and has Phra Buddha Singh statue which is a prime example of classical Lanna architecture. The murals on the left show the history of Songthong and on the right the history of Suwanna Hongse.

The Phra Buddha Sihing statue inside Wihan Lai Kham.    Ubosot of Wat Chedi Luang has a south entrance for monks and a north entrance for nuns. The building houses a mondop with the Phrachaotongtip Buddha statue, a smaller version of the Phra Buddha Sihing and it is therefore also known as Phrasingha noi.    An ubosot is a space in a Buddhist wat considered holiest prayer room where ordinations take place.The term ubosot, shortened to bot in Thai colloquial speech.
