iPhone Users - Avoid data loss by proactively dealing with Apple's quality issues & stupidity

Before I get to the exact point & tips for you, let me share a small story about how I lost my iPhone data because of bad quality of Apple software. During one of the Monday Mornings, I started seeing error on my phone about Memory full. So essentially I had to cleanup some space on my iPhone. Before coming to action part, let's understand why this state arised - Maybe, lot of apps got upgraded along with iOS upgrade last night or something else which ate lot more memory during the night without me using that phone, which is understandable until I share more with you about what happened next :). Now it was my turn to free up space and I directly went to Photo gallery and selected few Videos to delete. No some weird things started happening on my iPhone 8 Plus. Instead of deleting these videos, phone would show be message that files are deleted but I could still see them on my screen. Then I thought of deleting some of the lesser used apps. Apps were not going away from the iPhone. Now this made me very nervous as whatever I was doing was not happening in desired way. Probably it was a state when iPhone didn't even had memory to take care of the operations I was trying to do. Now here goes my first question to Apple - Why there is no threshold of memory usage beyond which phone should not accept any memory consumption, because you already know that your OS would not be able to work in desired way after that? : Clearly a software bug in iPhone which is taken very lightly or not even known. Now let me tell you that its known to Apple, as when I visited Apple Care centre - they mentioned that lot of customers face this issue in iPhone. Let me go back to the story I am telling you because the real impact is not yet visible. When I noticed that no action is happening on the phone, I thought of the global remedy - let me restart my iPhone and I may see some change or improvement. And from here the worst things started happening - Now my phone denied to boot. So my phone has black screen now and nothing happening on it now. Now I started reading on internet about similar symptoms and why it happens and all. I reached few articles on Apple Support website about how to put phone in recovery mode so that iTunes detect it. I could do it easily and beyond that I had 2 options : Update iPhone Restore iPhone I tried to update iPhone with an assumption that it might solve the booting problem without loosing data. The other option about restore was guaranteed data loss. Update was not working of the same reason that iPhone didn't have enough space to even attempt update. This again makes me wonder why iPhone even allows to drain memory beyond a point, where it's own software solution can't interact with phone. As I didn't want to do Restore the iPhone as I hadn't taken full backup of my phone. That's a learning for me that if data is important then subscribe to backup. iCloud paid subscription can be best option but it depends upon your use case. Now I made few visits to different Apple Care centres in my region. All of them were trying to update using iTunes only and no luck. Second question for Apple : How Apple has no way to deal with problems their own engineering creates for customers? No workarounds or Apple-care softwares to deal with it. After weeks of trying multiple things, I had to restore my iPhone 8 Plus which I could do myself through iTunes but lost all my phone data. I thought of sharing it with all iPhone users as a warning that keep backup of your data and don't let your iPhone reach a state where it forces you do to restore instead of update.

If you're planning to sell your mac because it's already old, find a store that will make it sold out.
