Surfing around Lighthouse Field State beach, Santa Cruz, California

What to ask if you are in San Francisco Bay Area on a Sunny day and on one such day, we drove from Redwood City to Santa Cruz. Instead of going straight to Broadwalk of Santa Cruz, we walked around some of the beaches and finally reached Lighthouse Field State Beach. This was the place to watch some awesome surfers and the clear day made it easier for me to click these photographs with phone camera.

It's very interesting to watch these surfers observing the wave mood of the ocean and accordingly making the move around the coastline. I realised that this adventurous sport also teaches you about the patience & calmness. Lot of patience is needed to watch the wave and then ride on it correctly.

Surfing is a surface water sport in which a surfer rides on the forward or deep face of a moving wave, which usually carries the surfer towards the shore. Waves suitable for surfing are primarily found in the ocean, but can also be found in lakes or rivers in the form of a standing wave or tidal bore. However, surfers can also utilize artificial waves such as those from boat wakes and the waves created in artificial wave pools.

I have visited San Francisco multiple times and many times, surfing enthusiasts caught my attention near Golden Gate Bridge. Probably because I haven’t seen surfing at other places. But certainly it’s a brilliant experience to see these surfers crossing through the waves of chilled water. San Francisco is chilly most of the times and the water in the ocean is very cold. One of my friend was recently telling me about weather in SFO. He said, there is only type of seasons in San Francisco – Winters (chilly) or Heavy Winters (very chilled). In fact, this definition goes well with many other places. During my last visit, we noticed kite surfers from Alkatraz ferry. I couldn’t make the video but these folks not only fight against the water tides but also with wind.

When I saw surfers for the first time, I was wondering how can they surf in such chilled water of Pacific Ocean and even when chilled wind was blowing all around the San Francisco town. It was a cloudy day and most of us were wearing multi-layered cloths. It's really amazing to see surfers playing so well with high waves in ocean.

Tell us if you went to a place and found it hard to locate a dustbin. 3. Avoid bottle waters in hills. Usually you get clean water in hills and water bottles create lot of mess in our ecosystem. 4. Say big no to plastic and avoid those unhealthy snacks packed in plastic bags. Rather buy fruits. 5. Don't play loud blaring music in forests of jungle camps. You are a guest in that ecosystem and disturbing the locals (humans and animals) is not polite
