Aerial Views of Vishakhapatnam city & the Ocean from Novotel Hotel in Vizag

Marriott Hotel is very well located in Vizag and if I can't say that it's on the beach, it's certainly close of the beach and just across the road, you can see the ocean. I was in Vizag for the first time this year and there was an event on the top floor of the Marriott Hotel, where they can their sky-bar. This post shares some of the photographs I could click during break time.

Interesting part is that the road in front of the hotel is almost straight and long, so it offers great views of the ocean, beaches and Dolphin's nose hill on the right side of the Marriott hotel. The Vizag city is home to the oldest shipyard and the only natural harbour on the east coast of India. Visakhapatnam Port is the fifth-busiest cargo port in India and the city is home to the headquarters of the Indian Navy's Eastern Command. This is one of he beautiful & clean cities I have seen in India. Especially the navy area and residential colonies around Dolphin's Nose hill are very beautifully maintained.

Visakhapatnam is a major tourist destination and is particularly known for its beaches. It is referred to by many nicknames such as 'The City of Destiny' and 'The Jewel of the East Coast'. It has been selected as one of the Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under the Smart Cities Mission. As per the Swachhta Sarvekshan rankings of 2017, it is the third cleanest city in India. And I have seen the cleaning action in the city which certainly deserves special mention. Above photograph shows the Dolphin's Nose Hill, which is close to the naval headquarters. Two main museums worth seeing are also located on the road you see in these photographs. One of them is museum which is setup within a retired submarine and the other one is about aircrafts.

How to reach Borra caves and main things to do around Araku Valley in India

Vizag has tropical wet and dry climate. The annual average temperatures ranges between 24.7–30.6 °C with the maximum in the month of May and the minimum in January, like many other states/cities of India. The minimum temperatures ranges between 20–27 °C. Vizag city receives rainfall from the South-west and North-east monsoons.

Vizag beaches are pretty busy and during the month of feb, there was some festival happening on the beaches because of which you see lot of tents installed and hundreds of people or probably thousands. You can also see a huge ship in the ocean. The Submarine museum is parallel to that ship and close to the road. Marriott is certainly very well located in Vizag city and some of it's rooms must be offering great views of the city and ocean.

Novotel is certainly very well located in Vizag city and some of it's rooms must be offering great views of the city and ocean.

If you liked this post and found it helpful, I would request you to follow these things when traveling -

  1. Manage your waste well and don’t litter
  2. Use dustbins. Tell us if you went to a place and found it hard to locate a dustbin.
  3. Avoid bottle waters in hills. Usually you get clean water in hills and water bottles create lot of mess in our ecosystem.
  4. Say big no to plastic and avoid those unhealthy snacks packed in plastic bags. Rather buy fruits.
  5. Don't play loud blaring music in forests of jungle camps. You are a guest in that ecosystem and disturbing the locals (humans and animals) is not polite
