Up in the air - from India to Cambodia through Kualalumpur

During my recent trip to Cambodia, I chose Malindo Airways and as always, I could get a window seat :). If I am traveling during the day, I don't want to sit on non-window seat and when I am on window seat I never miss to keep my camera with me. This post shares some of the photographs clicked from my Flights from Delhi to Kuala-Lumpur and then to Phnom Penh. During this trip, I loved Aerial shots I could take. There are more to be processed yet but I couldn't resist posting about the set I had ready with me.

Somehow all these shots are looking blurred and it has something to do with my Lightroom export workflow, which I need to fix soon. I hated when I looked at these photographs after export, otherwise all of them are pretty sharp. Since I didn't want to delay this post, I thought of sharing these photograph to give a feel the views I witnessed from the aircraft.

With drones getting popular with every passing day, we see lot of aerial photographs and it's certainly special to see things from the height. I don't have any drone so far, but have seen some of the travel photographers doing great job with these gadgets to capture aerial views pretty well. Many times, I felt like buying one but looking at the time I give to photography these days, I have been dropping this idea.

Being camera ready in the aircraft can be very rewarding at times. In 2013, I did an aerial photography project in Madhya Pradesh, although I can't share the official photographs as those are being used in Morena district museum but I have shared some other aerial shots in this post.

These clouds make the experience even better. If you are on a flight and having your mobile camera, even that can be a great gadget to create wonderful aerial content. You must have seen various time-lapse videos of clouds and making them from aircraft can be a brilliant idea. And if you are in a creative mood, there are chances of killer outputs with mobile camera as well.

Modern smart-phones come with some brilliant video features in terms of time-lapse, slow motion etc. Similar is the case with still photography templates. Learning them well and making their best use while traveling can be very rewarding. I do a series called 'MobileGIRI' on this blog, although it's more about still photographs and less of videos.

When flying to and from Kuala Lumpur, there are plenty of shooting opportunities as landscapes look awesome with these colors & contrasting setups.

And if you get a clear day, visible from extreme heights can be very rewarding. The way rivers look from the top is amazing. If you have travelled from Delhi to North-East during the day, I am sure you would have experienced some wonderful views of Himalayan ranges and many of the rivers and their tributaries from all the directions. But if it's hazy, you loose all the fun.
