Pakoras and Travellers - Friends for Life

Suddenly the entire world is talking about Pakoras. If you are thinking "What the hell is this guy talking about?" do a search on the Internet for Narendra Modi and Pakoras and you will understand exactly what I mean. Anyhow, this sudden focus on Pakoras got me thinking about all the pakoras I have loved and ignored in my life. I also wondered whether it is just me or is everyone else too engulfed in this Pakora wave. I didn't have to search too hard for an answer. Click here and you will find out for yourself. Not only Pakoras, you will also find out about 3 other interesting stories that have set the social media on fire. Trust me, it's interesting stuff.

Going back to pakoras, I realized how much injustice I (and the entire world has done to 'Pakoras'. I have pakoras in almost every travel I undertake. A pakora is the perfect companion with tea. The golden brown crust and the spicy fillings, what's there to not like about them? And despite all this, there's only one mention of Pakoras on my blog. I just searched and I found only this blog-post where I have talked about Pakoras. I assumed that I would definitely have many photographs of pakoras on my blog because of my obvious love for them. But this one turned out to be a reality check. After a long search, I found just one photograph of a pakora, which was published in a guest-post and that's what you see a title image of this blog-post. Shame on me and kudos to Sumit Sond who gave pakoras their due. This blog post deserves respect and a read. Since then, the fact that I have never really acknowledged pakoras on my blog has been bothering me. I have been wondering what it is about pakoras that makes me love them and at the same time, ignore them. Then I realized that they are like that friend who you have hung out with since childhood, the one that you take for granted. The one who takes you for granted. You find this friend by your side whenever you need support, but you never think of thanking him/her for being there. That is because it is not required. This is a friendship that doesn't need those formalities. So is my relationship with pakoras. I love them, but don't feel the need to state this explicitly or demonstrated it. We understand each other completely and are in perfect sync. With this realization, I go back to eating pakoras with chai, and ignoring them. I am sure pakoras will understand.
