Interesting rock-dwellers on the beaches of Goa

Almost everyone who visit Goa, goes to Aguada fort. And if you are yet to plan, you must be thinking of adding Aguada fort in your list of main places to visit in Goa. Whenever you plan Aguada, there is this interesting place where you find hundreds of crabs playing around. So when we were coming back from Aguada, we took the other road which goes towards sea and ends near Goa Central Jail. We parked our car near the entry gate and stepped down towards the rocks around shoreline. One of our friends asked us to go there. In fact, he wanted us to do fishing at this place. And after coming this place, we realized that lot of folks come here for fishing. Probably this is sort of corner of the sea so there were not very aggressive waves around this place and hence, high probably to finding fishes which settle down at peace. As we stepped down, we were wondering if this was a good decision to come here. But on second thought, we tried to locate the crabs which was extremely difficult task in the beginning. Because color of these crabs was almost same as that of rocks, it was really difficult to make out where these crabs are sitting. After while Vibha located few of them sitting behind the rock and saving them from impact of sea waves. That’s how we got to know about the right places to locate these crabs. They can be easily located on high rocks where water doesn’t rise or behind the rock, where impact of sea waves is minimal.Although they try to move, but it’s extremely difficult for them, especially when frequency of waves is pretty high. Although they have figured out ways to find the right route for moving one rock to other. And the grip of their legs is super awesome. You have to see how these crabs challenge the strong sea waves and cross them.Apart from these crabs, there is nothing on this side of Goa. So if you are not interested, go somewhere else and chill :) . But (I think) if you are with kids, you would want to visit the place for few minutes. Advantage is that it’s quite close to Aguada fort, so not much of your time is on stake :)

Few local folks came here for fishing and it seems that they had a successful morning. The guy in yellow was carrying few sacks towards the road.
