A day out with Urvi in Khajjiar, Himachal Pradesh (India)

Rakshabandhan was a good reason to visit my sister in Dalhousie and meet Urvi. During one of the days, we planned an outing to Khajjiar . All photographs shared in this Photo Journey are from beautiful Khajjiar, which is also known as mini Switzerland of India. We planned to take bus from Dalhousie at 9:30am which drop you at Khajjiar at around 10:15am. Urvi was not happy with the ride, but most of the times she was busy in showing things to me. Initially plan to hire a taxi and visit Chamba after Khajjiar, but then we realized that it will be too much for a day. So most of the day was spent at Khajjiar only. We walked around the lush green meadows of Khajjiar. Met rabbits, sheep, cows on our way from one side of Khajjiar lake to other. Urvi was very happy seeing Rabbits and sheep, but cows were dirty & they hadn't taken taken bath that day :). This was Urvi's best place to sit in Khajjiar and enjoyed sheep grazing and fighting with each other. At times she was doing commentary on how sheep and cows were moving from one part of the meadows to the other. We had our lunch at HPTDC hotel. It was an off season for them in August, so the restaurant was empty. They served good food. We played a lot, walked tirelessly and then headed back towards road to catch the bus for Dalhousie. After Urvi reached home, she said that next time we will not go in bus - 'ham tuk-tuk vali bus mein nahin jayenge' :). It was a day well spent with Urvi and Khajjiar is definitely a great for day outing with kids. Now there are some arrangements for kids to enjoy. We also realized that we could have taken some of teh Urvi's toys with us. Wish to plan another such outing soon and with better planning.
