There are 2 parts of Grand Canyon - North rim & South rim. There are various kinds of trip organized by travel companies in Grand canyon. Biking trips for adventure lovers and varied other options if you want to pool. Limousine tours are quite popular, which start from Las Vegas in the morning and drops you back in your hotel by late evening. Some of these tours also offer food and other stop at appropriate places for lunch.
Grandness of Hoover dam would keep surprise you big time. You suddenly reach around this dam, which is not very expected in these beautiful terrains of Grand Canyon. Usually tour cabs stop here and let you enjoy the grandness of this place.
The Skywalk in Grand Canyon is awesome. There is so much history around this place. From Indians relics on a reservation to historical rock formations. This is definitely a must see and don't forget to look down when you're on the Skywalk. Grand Canyon village sounded exciting and there are some good options to stay here.
If you want to experience the canyon, a hike into it is a must. Although I didn't do that but strongly felt about it when met few of hikers during lunch. It is relatively easy to get down to Skeleton Point, but it is an effort getting back to the top. But regardless of your fitness level try and walk down some of the way. There are many other hikes around Grand Canyon. During one day of experience I realized that even one week tour to Grand Canyon is less.
There are Helicopter rides available around Grand Canyon. I am sure these would again be worth exploring but I am not sure about pricing. I would love to do Aerial Photography here.

All these photographs speak a lot about Grand Canyon. Before visiting Grand Canyon, I hardly read about the place. All the photographs on internet were enough to encourage me to plan this trip when I visited San Francisco.
If you wish to drive, you can also choose to get a car on rent from Las Vegas. Rentals are little high but it's worth if you in a group. That gives you flexibility to plan the trip in your own way and stop wherever you want to.
Rafting and tubing is another adventure that you can experience at Grand Canyon.
There planes and Helicopters in blue sky look awesome when we are surrounded by bright red landscapes all around.
Eagle point is another interesting place where you see lot of eagles flying around the canyon.
