The 15th Raid-de-Himalaya Afterparty [2013] || A Photo Journey by Aniket Das

With the Raid coming to an end on the 12th of October 2013, 2 guys just like me (Samrat Yadav & Parminder Thakur, who were competitors in the rally) were clueless on how to get back home from Leh. Samrat had to go to Chandigarh, Parminder to Shogi and I had to get back to my college (National Institute of Design) in Ahmedabad.

After a lot of fuss and confusion, Maruti Suzuki Motorsports decided that we were the capable bunch to hand over the keys to, of a competition car (SX4) that needed to be delivered to Manali. We jumped at the offer. We knew we could figure things out once we reach Manali.

So without wasting anytime, we tagged along Harpreet Bawa in his Gypsy and left for a roadtrip that would test our survival skills!

Little did we know what lay ahead. Everyone else had made plans of leaving the next day since something was brewing. We didnt have a clue. I think that just made things a lot better!
But, when i look back i knew who to blame. Read through the pics, and lets hope it makes you live through the ordeals of the insane 'Afterparty' that commenced in the evening of the 12th of October, 2013.

Happy & dandy, we were thoroughly excited about this roadtrip that would practically make us do a second round of the rally. We started capturing every milestone & settlement as we knew such an opportunity would be hard to find in the future. We wanted to keep a record of thijourney. Thank god for that! With 400+kms to Manali, we had a long trip ahead of us. Some beautiful scenes like these did make us sing! Oh the joys of freedom 'Happy Journey' Yeah, thanks for that. Samrat waits as Parminder gets the toll ticket. Thats the SX4 by the way. She looked like she was back from a big war. I guess she was We've all got issues. So HIMANK's no exception. Yes HIMANK, we are enjoying the valley- now that the rally is over Temperatures kept falling and we saw clouds in the distance. This meant only one thing- IT WAS GOING TO SNOW! We jumped out of our cars and were on our feet balle-balle-ing And then we saw her-SNOW! Along with that, a reminder. I had already done Khardungla Top, being tied on top of a Bolero, now i needed to see what Tanglangla had in store for me The more we headed up the more serious things became And temperatures dropped below zero at exactly 5:55pm. Timing boss We were super pumped about the snow but something was going wrong. The car kept slipping...Keep watching this space to know what happens next...

We knew we could figure things out once we reach Manali.So without wasting anytime, we tagged along Harpreet Bawa in his Gypsy and left for a roadtrip that would test our survival skills!Little did we know what lay ahead. Everyone else had made plans of leaving the next day since something was brewing. We didnt have a clue. I think that just made things a lot better!But, when i look back i knew who to blame.
 And temperatures dropped below zero at exactly 5:55pm. Timing boss!

With the Raid comin to an end on the 12th of October 2013, 2 guys just like me (Samrat Yadav & Parminder Thakur, who were competitors in the rally) were clueless on how to get back home from Leh. Samrat had to go to Chandigarh, Parminder to Shogi and I had to get back to my college (National Institute of Design) in Ahmedabad.After a lot of fuss and confusion, Maruti Suzuki Motorsports decided that we were the capable bunch to hand over the keys to, of a competition car (SX4)thatneeded to be delivered to Manali. We jumped at the offer.
