MobileGIRI during Road-Trip from Delhi to Kashmir in Nitin's Gypsy - Delhi, Ambala, Ludhiana, Pathankot, Jammu, Rajouri, Peer-Ki-Gali, Srinagar, Anantnag, Sinthan Pass

After a long time, here is another MobileGIRI PHOTO JOURNEY. This Photo Journey shares some of the Mobile clicks from Delhi Srinagar road trip with Nitin in his Gypsy... Let's check out these photographs and know more about this exciting trip to Kashmir(Heaven on Earth) from Capital City of IndiaFirst photograph of this Photo Journey is shot somewhere around Rajauri in Jammu & KashmirIt was pleasant when we started from Gurgaon and after some time it started getting hot. After some drive, we hit the highway with green fields all around. Wind was again pleasant, so we hardly used AC during this drive from Delhi to Jammu. We took enough breaks on the way and deviated from our route & went towards Amritsar by missing a turn after Phagwara... Anyways, we had not expected that after all these breaks we would be able to hit Jammu at 4:30pm, which also includes some time in finding hotel after hitting Jammu town. During this search we used MapmyIndia application and it was awesome ! A photograph of Hari Niwas Palace in Jammu. Basically we started early in the morning from Gurgaon, at around 5:15 am and reached Jammu by 4:30 pm. Jammu was our first halt and many other folks had to catch up here. So in Jammu we stayed at Hari Niwas Palce Hotel, which is another building on the right of this beautiful palace. It was a wonderful place to stay with river on back side and wonderful view on front. Atmosphere all around the place is very good and Hotel has enough space to host big parties in the lawns. Green gardens around it and mango trees were amazing. Food, Room Service and stay was wonderfulNext morning convoy started form Hari Niwas Palace Hotel at 5:00 am and this drive was wonderful through Old Mughal Road - Rajauri, Peer Ki Gali, Pulwama etc... Beautiful hills all around capped with snow and water streams flowing through them... Crossed few waterfalls at reasonable distance from main Mughal Road...Here is a photograph if high Peer-ki-Gali, which was most beautiful place on Mughal Road. Lush Green hills all around with shining whit snow on their heads & water streaming flowing down to meet the main river nearby. Am amazing sight. There were few tents installed around these hills. This whole stretch of Mughal road is best to stop for tea break and enjoy the wonderful weather around these amazing hills covered with snow. There are enough shops on the way to enjoy tea, maggie, Rajmah-chawal etcAfter climbing high hills on the way to Srinagar, after Peer ki Gali ki was downhill till a point and them almost whole drive was in plains or moderate hills. This region was again very beautiful with agricultural land all around with Apple orchards. 95% of the Mughal Road was in wonderful condition and some work was under progress in some stretches. As an example you can see the road in above photograph- quite smooth and wide..After 7 Hours of drive from Jammu to Srinagar through Old Mughal Road we reached Srinagar Golf club and then finally landed at Hotel Cetaur, which was our stay for next two days. This hotel is situated in the middle of Nagin Lake which is adjoining Dal Lake in Srinagar. Centaur has lot of green space all around and nice views to the lake. Although as per it's claims, it's not very well maintained hotel. After discussing with other folks, I got a sense that many of the five start hotels in Srinagar are finding it difficult to maintain their properties, because of negative impact on tourism in last decade. Although things are improving now and hope that all of these start making money to well matins the wonderful properties they have. Nitin's Gypsy standing just in front of the main gate of Centaur Hotel in Srinagar After some rest at hotel, I and Varun thought of having a round outside and went till Dal Lake. It was sunset time and clicked some of the sunset hues in our cameras. But the photograph above is shot with HTC Desire Hd mobile having HDR application installed. This application clicks three photographs of same frame at different exposures and combine them. This application is extremely useful while in hills because we usually get very contrasty light in hills during day time. In fact above frame was a good use-case for this application. During our stay at Srinagar, schedule was extremely tight for nights. We used to sleep at around 10:30pm-11pm and used to get up at around 2-2:30 am... Nitin is quite used to it and very good in keeping himself away from sleep while driving. On second day, we had to drive towards Sinthan Pass through Anantnag. I used to try my best for keeping away the sleep but it was very difficult for me on second day. So we started at 2:30am from Srinagar. I and Varun were sleeping and Nitin was driving through 250 kilometers. It's very normal for him but I am sure our sleepy faces must be frustrating for him... But he was always smiling when we discussed it :Here is one of the photograph of Sinthan Pass. This is exactly shot on highest point of Sinthan Pass and two local folks walking down through snow covered pass. From the size of these two people, you can imagine how big this space must be.. and probably this photograph is showing 60 degree view of Sinthan Pass..This is one of my favorite photograph shot between Sinthan Pass and Chingam. Nitin yadav, who is popular among Motorsports enthusiasts in India with his car and friend Varun. I was super-impressed to see Nitin's planing for such events/travels. His Gypsy has almost everything which he may need during tarvel. Accessories to cook on the way, mats/stools to take rest whenever required, sleeping bags & other stuff if he needs to spend night on the way in wild and what not. Of-course, a detailed Photo Journey about all these things is due here..At the same place, Nitin took out his box with gas & other stuff to make Maggie. So it was wonderful lunch in the middle of snow covered hills of kashmir - some packed snacks & hot maggie prepared by Nitin & Varun. Mainly both of them handled everything and I was there for small supports of they neededView form this place was amazing and it reminded me about Windows-Xp wallpaper with blue hills in it. I have deliberating all the closest hill to just show that how colors were changing with distance in hills. I have been to various hilly places & passes, but this was first time I was seeing hills in dark blue colors. It seemed like God is Photoshopping these hills for us to witnessAnother photograph near Sinthan Pass. For more photographs from Sinthan Pass, feel free to check out - THIVarun with his camera standing on snow topped hill at Sinthan Pass.Nitin looking into deep valley near Sinthan Pass and his Gypsy standing on the left. This location is just below Sinthan Pass and having a wonderful view to the valley with curved roads metering around 25-30 kiometers which can be seen from top. This roads goes towards Chingam. It was our second last day in Kashmir and next day we had to leave for Jammu..There are enough security all around these hills and passes. Especially for 2 days Mughal Rally which d during the same time. The Tiger Team of Nitin, Varun & VJ was there to capture the action. Apart from shooting various rally cars, SUVs & Gypsy; places around us were amazing to capture in our still & video cameras. I have also shot some videos with HTC Desire HD Mobile with will try to share soonIt's time when first stage from Sinthan Pass to Chingam has completed and we had around 1.5 hrs to take rest and gear up for back journey from Chingam to Sinthan Pass. Photo shows Nitin walking towards security personnel sitting on the other side of road and a shepherd enjoying flying cars of Mughal Rally 2012Now it was time to drive back to Srinagar which was again a long stretch to do. This stretch around Sinthan Pass and the valley was very beautifulWe reached Srinagar lake in the evening after heavy jam in the city and next day was to come back... With this amazing road journey completed with lot of fuadventure, experiences & of course Photography !!!

With this amazing road journey completed with lot of fuadventure, experiences & of course Photography !!!

Nitin looking into deep valley near Sinthan Pass and his Gypsy standing on the left. This location is just below Sinthan Pass and having a wonderful view to the valley with curved roads metering around 25-30 kiometers which can be seen from top. This roads goes towards Chingam. It was our second last day in Kashmir and next day we had to leave for Jammu...

Apart from shooting various rally cars, SUVs & Gypsy; places around us were amazing to capture in our still & video cameras.
