Free Trip to Spree River in Berlin, Germany by VIKAS SHARMA : Posted by VIKAS SHARMA at www.travellingcamera.com : The Spree is a river that flows through the Saxony, Brandenburg and Berlin states of Germany and in the Ústí and Labem region of the Czech Republic...It is a left bank tributary of the River Havel and is approximately 400 kilometres (250 miles) in length....Spree River flows through the city center of Berlin to join the River Havel at Spandau, a town in the western suburbs of Berlin...On its route through Berlin, the river passes Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom), the Reichstag and the Schloss Charlottenburg...The renowned Museum Island (Museumsinsel) with its collection of five major museums is actually an island in the Spree. The Badeschiff is a floating swimming pool moored in the Spree...Few days back I visited Germany for my official trip to Hannover.. During a weekend few of us planned to visit Berlin and we booked few seats in an excursion boat for a ride on Spree River... It costs 20 Euros for one person and I am going to share the views in free here... Have a look...The Supreme Parish and Collegiate Church in Berlin....We spent some time on shores of Spree river before getting the cruise ride in the river to explore Hannover... I loved the architecture of the city and there were many educational institutions & universities around...Another ship in Spree rivers... as we started journey through spree river, we saw different cruises on the way and all were different... but someone told me that the one we are in was among the popular once in Hannover... We were happy to hear that... but I don't remember what was the specialty because we were distracted with fun-filled travel in Spree....Here is another view of Catholic church in Berlin...Its sunset and colors around us started changing.. some of the building were looking amazing with sunset colors...All the colors in some directions started fading out with Sunset.. more towards black and white OR Sepia...Many of the visitors want to wait here for perfect sunset colors but you know its not possible...The building in the background has clear shades on sunset..Now its time to pack the camera in the bag, because its getting dark and hard to capture places around without tripod...Berlin's Museum Island is home to five world-class museums and the Berlin Cathedral; this unique ensemble of museums and traditional buildings on the small island in the river Spree is a UNESCO World Heritage site....The Spree supplies most of Berlin's drinking water and other needs. A large part of the river's water is pumped up out of the coal mines around Cottbus, replacing the ground water which itself has been reduced by constant use over the centuries...There were many beautiful buildings around the path we were following in Spree river... we had a gentleman sitting behind us who was regularly telling us about these buildings but now I realize that I should have noted down that information in my diary... in that way I would have more to share here... But never mind, its about PHOTO JOURNEY... :)Lunch is available onboard for approximately EUR10.50 per person but travel agent needs to be informed in time... Spree Cruises पास थ्रौघ famous sights as Potsdamer Platz, the Reichstag, Museum Island, Berlin Cathedral and much more...Lunch is available onboard for approximately EUR10.50 per person but travel agent needs to be informed in time...Taking a cruise on the Spree River was a very good opportunity to have a good introduction to Berlin's famous sights and varied architecture...Best way to see a different sides to Berlin and escape the summer heat is to have a Spree Ride in Evening Excursion...
Bode Museum at the tip of museum Island in the Spree... Tourists to Berlin can enjoy a cruise along the Spree River. The ferry boats stop at various destinations for passengers to board or disembark...The circular tour lasts three hours and begins at the Charlottenburg Palace Bridge (Charlottenburger Schlossbrücke) along the Landwehrkanal through Kreuzberg and then back to the Spree in the district of Friedrichshain, returning to Charlottenburg via Old Berlin (Alt-Berlin) in the Mitte district...In Berlin, the Spree River forms part of a dense network of navigable waterways and many of which are artificial....which provide a wide choice of routes... Tour boats tour the central section of the Spree and its adjoining waterways on a frequent basis....

The building in the background has clear shades on sunset..
