Keukenhof, The Garden of Europe

Keukenhof, also known as the Garden of Europe, is situated near Lisse, Netherlands, and is the world's largest flower garden. According to the official website for the Keukenhof Park, approximately 7,000,000 (seven million) flower bulbs are planted annually in the park.

Recently one of my friend visited the place and he has clicked all these photographs...

As from the end of 2009 you can buy your tickets through this website. You do not have to stand in line at the ticket office, but you can walk straight to the ticket inspector. If you come by car, it is wise to buy a parkingticket on-line as well.

In the weekend of 16 to 18 October 2009, Keukenhof will be hosting the National Flower Bulb Market. Anyone on the look-out for unique bulbs to plant in their own garden can find what they need at Keukenhof that weekend. Dozens of growers from across the Netherlands will be offering their products for sale. Keukenhof’s team of gardeners will also be giving plant demonstrations and offering a range of tips and advice. Entrance and parking at Keukenhof are completely free of charge!

You have been able to cycle around Keukenhof bulb fields for years. This year there is a new attraction at Keukenhof, the so-called ‘whisper boats’. These boats are driven by electric engines, are environmentally friendly and are almost silent as they sail through the beautiful surrounding bulb landscape. The boats that are used are perfectly suitable for sailing through the often shallow water. They are, in fact, old boats that used to be used by gardeners, growers and farmers for all types of work.

The boat trip lasts 1 hour and 10/15 minutes and guarantees you the best photographs. If the weather is good, the boat leaves at 10.30, 11.30, 12.00, 13.00, 13.30, 14.30, 15.00, 16.00. Per tour a limited number of seats available.

The price is € 7.50 p.p. (excl. Keukenhof entrance)

Individual Keukenhofvisitors can't reserve a seat by telephone or mail. You can buy your boatticket on the spot (near the windmill at our park).
