This is continued version of our last article where we saw how Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer can be extremely useful in getting better Black-&-White Photographs in Adobe Photoshop Elements.
This articles continues from there and if you haven't seen the earlier one, check out our last post.
Keep first article open to see the Black &White shown in that one and compare with the ones shown here. In last article we discussed about using Hue/Saturation to get different shades of Blacks, Whites and Greys. Today we shall see the fruther scopes of improving your Black and White Photographs.
Levels Adjustment Layer is one of the next steps which helps in getting good shapes of Whites, Greys and Blacks. Here you get three pointers on single slider. The extreme left slider is for adjusting dark pixels of your Photograph, Middle one is to adjust Midtones and right one is for Bright pixels. Move around with these and see how you like the overall configuration of Levels. Levels are separately discussed on our blog earlier and you may want to check that.
After that Brightness/Contrast Adjustment Layer can be a logical step to go for. For me probably the last step for now and will give decent results for Final Black-&-White Photograph.
