Paresh Maity and Jaishree Burman at 'FAITHfully Yours', a Photography Exhibition in Delhi, INDIA

Photography Exhibition 'FAITHfully yours?' going great so far and show is visited by various national & international personalities. It was great to have Mr. Paresh Maity, a marvelous  & internationally acclaimed painter along with his wife Jaishree Burman who is again a great artist. Let's check out this Photo Journey to know about their visit to the exhibition and more about themselves.

Paresh Maity has had more than 50 shows in thirty years. He gradually moved from atmospheric scenery to representations of the human form. His more recent paintings are bold and graphic, with a strong color and unusual cropping. His works are in a number of collections, including the British Museum, and the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi. In early years he did many watercolors of different locations.

Paresh  quite popular across the world for his paintings. For Indians, his painting at Terminal 3 of Delhi Airport is one one of the main things for introducing him. Paresh Maity has created the biggest painting of his life and probably the longest in India.

Paresh Maity is also known as someone who reached this level of popularity in short span of time. His largest painting stretches up to over 850 feet and is surely one of the most monumental paintings in the world as well. In August 2011, his 55th solo show with water colour paintings based on the last 15 poems of poet Rabindranath Tagore, Shesh Lekha opened at the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi.

When we start talking about Top Indian Artists, he is of-course one of the main artist in the list. Paresh Maity was born in Tamluk, Purba Medinipur. He has a degree in Fine Arts from the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata and graduated at the top of his class with a Masters of Fine Arts from the Delhi College of Arts. He is married to artist Jayasri Burman, and lives and works in New Delhi

Jayasri Burman is also a contemporary Indian artist. She studied at the Kala Bhavan in Shantiniketan and the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata. She went to Paris and studies print-making under Monsieur Ceizerzi.

Jayshree Burman is a member of an extended family of eminent artists uncle Sakti Burman who lives and works in France, though he is considered an Indian artist and her cousin, Maya Burman apart from her husband Mr. Paresh Maity. In 2005 she helped create an exhibition called 'The Family' featuring work of all these artists.

Burman works mainly in watercolor, using rich strong hues and bold themes with a mythic element—strange hybrid animals with human heads, female figures. She has won several prizes for her art. Her work has been exhibited in India, and overseas.

It was great to have Paresh Maity and Jayshree Burman during inauguration of FAITHFULLY YOURS. Both of them went through each artwork and talked to most of the photographers at the show.
