During my recent visit to San Jose, we planned to go to Stanford University and the famous Google Office. Our Big Boss had hired a car and took 7 of us to Stanford during one of the evenings. This Photo Journey shares some of the photographs clicked at Stanford Campus.
It was awesome to be at Stanford. All of us were expecting a huge gate of university, which is very obvious in India. But there was no such gate and entry to the university is very beautiful. We went to one of the main building of the Stanford University, having Medical department. We parked our car around this building and spent 10 minutes to feel the environment.
Most of us felt like going back to University and in factmany of the folks who have kids started dreaming of their kids in Stanford. It was really an awesome experience. In fact, I was also thinking of exploring the possibilities to get into Stanford. While coming back, some of us were even thinking of taking up any short term course, if university offers :) ... Some of the folks were not able to sleep and whole night spent in searching about university and details about courses, fees, procedures etc.
Stanford University or Stanford is an American private research university located in Stanford, California on an 8180-acre campus near Palo Alto. We had not enough time to explore it more. We hardly spent 20 minutes in one part of the university. University is situated in the northwestern Silicon Valley, approximately 20 miles northwest of San Jose and 37 miles southeast of San Francisco. Stanford is considered to be one of the most prestigious universities in the United States and the world.
On the way everyone of us shared different stories about Stanford graduates, who started their own companies and world know them. How different campuses are named after the names of some successful students and organizations/people who fund various Stanford projects.
While coming back to San Jose from Stanford University, we drove through Paulo Alto Downtown and some of the residential areas. Houses around Paulo Alto are huge and one of the most expensive in California. But one thing was continuously hitting us all - 'why we see hardly anyone outside the house'. This is something that every Indian notice there. It's not about Paulo Alto only, but it's about most of the towns in Califorina except big cities like San Francisco.
At Paulo Alto Downtown, we saw Apple showroom where Steve Jobs used to visit for any device launch by Apple. Steve Jobs used to live in Paulo Alto.
Pihu pushing Nandan while talking about higher education at Standford. Everyone was overwhelmed by the campus of Stanford, but Pihu had lot of questions to reach a conclusion that why Stanford is considered as one of the top universities in the world.
The roads inside Stanford Campus were quite busy with bicycle traffic of students. It was very lively campus with happy faces all around.
Here is the whole group, who visited Standford. Only Nataraj is missing who was parking the car at this moment.
