Snake Park at Bannergatta Zoological Park - A very interesting place with variety of reptiles in Bangalore (Karnataka, India)

For last few days, we have been sharing Photo Journeys about Wildlife around Banglore City of India. So far we have shared two Photo Journeys on National Wildlife Park and Zoological Park at Bannerghatta. This Photo Journey shares some insights about Reptile/Snake Park inside Bannerghatta Zoological Park in Banglore. Let's start...Bannerghatta Zoological Park boasts an amazing reptile collection - a snake park lets you get up close and personal with the scaly, slithery creatures. Reptile Park is integral part of Bannerghatta Zoo in Banglore. Most of the snakes are kept inside small chambers surrounded by high walls of iron-net. All these chambers have natural setup with rocks, grass and trees. Some of the tree-branches were coming out of the chambers which were alarming for me, as snakes can easily climb up and jump down to get out of these chambersThis Reptile Park is spread over a huge area inside Zoo and signboards are placed all around to direct towards different types of snakes. This one is trying to direct us towards right for seeing King Cobra at Bannerghatta Zoological Park. Most of the snakes inside this park were seemed very lazy and probably these restrictions to be inside a specific boundary is extremely boring for them. It's not very simple to locate these snakes inside the chamber, because of lot of grass, rocks all around. Some of the chambers have more than 5 snakes, but it was hard to locate them on tree branches, inside holes, crawling under the grass etc... Locating snakes inside a particular chamber was an interesting task in itself.Snake Park of Bannerghatta Zoo in Banglore is one of the most populated region inside Wildlife boundaries of Bannerghatta, BangloreHere is one of the videos showing dancing snakes inside Bannerghatta Zoological Park, Banglore, Karnataka, India !!!

Sakshi, It was different experience to roam around a snake park of a Zoological park. At times frustrating when you don't see anything after spending lot of time in locating a reptile, but rewarding when you locate one and can watch their moves without any fear.

Wow! Superb clicks. The branches coming out of the enclosures is indeed very scary!
Thanks Roopz & Vibha !

Vibha - It was really very scary but some of the snakes were extremely lazy.. not sure it was because of some specific reason that day and it was usual thing with some of the snakes there...

Well thanks God for lazy snakes! Snakes don't move around generally unless they absolutely have to. :) And here they get food and water without making any efforts. Hence the laziness I guess. It is the same with Crocs as well.
