Although Nehru Place is mainly known for it's computer hardware market which is considered as largest one in Asia, but there are lot many other things to observce around this place. For now, let's have a quick Photo Journey with my HTC Desire HD and it's mainly focussed on Nehru Place Market and places visible from this part of the Delhi...
The very first photograph of this Photo Journey shows a view of Iskon Temple which is visible from Metro Station. Nehru Place is well connected with Metro Train now, which starts from Centeral Scretriate.
Here is first view after getting down from Metro Station at Nehru Place. Very Crowded places with some Autos lined up to take their clients to appropriate places, but on thier terms. Satyam Cinemas is just in front of Nehru Place Metro Station, as you can see in above Photograph.
There are some of the shops at Nehru Place Computer hardware Market where rate lists with appropriate specifications are pasted and you have to just order the component you want. No scope of negociations and success rate of such shops is seen much more than other dealers. As of now, I am forgetting the name of a dealer who is very popular for fixed priced computer components and located on first floor.
Nehru Place market is surrounded by some of the other intersting places like Bahai's Temple (Lotus Temple) and Iskon Temple. Lotus temple is one of the main tourist places in Delhi, India and Iskon Temple is a paradise for peace lovers. It's exactly in Kailash Coloy from where Lotus temple is also clearly visible. There are some light and sound shows at this temple, which are mainly around stories of Radhe Krishna.
With all these basic details about Nehru place market, it was time to leave the place and move towards our homes. Sunset was beutiful on that day and we were missing our cameras at this point of time, but still HTC Desire helped in capturing these moments for us.
There are some of the eating points around this place and people spend complete day in searching for right stuff. Many folks for surrounding states come to this market to buy Computer Components in whole-sale and book profits in their local regions.
Apart from main computer shops and street shops, few boys can be seen roaming around this place. They sell pirated Softwares for 50 Rs to 200 Rs, depending upon the kind of software you want. At times, you can get a good deal of having 4-5 softwares in 100 rupees. Latest versions of almost all the softwares can be seen in this market. Everyone knows about this fact including government.
Apart from Computer Hardware other stuff like cloths, shoes etc are also sold on the streets of Nehru Place Market. All this stuff is non-branded and most of the times low quality. But some of the use & throw electronic stuff is quite cheap in this market.
Here is one of the sample from fixed priced shop at Nehru Place computer hardware market in national capital region of India - Delhi !!!
There is very strong network of dealers in this market, which ensures that no one is cutting much on the rates to avoid overall loss of this market. Their benefit is always in ensuring standard ranges for different types of computer components. Although customer may get higher prices, as many of them come to this market without proper home-work around the prices & configurations. I have seen many people going to this market with an impression that they get good stuff at cheaper rates and end up with cheaper rates for old configurations...
Here is typical view of Nehru Place Market where it's surrounded by multi-storey buildings from all sides. All these floors have various Computer Hardware dealers, shops and assembling service providers. In fact, there are some of the very large scale dealers for various branded computers and other equipments like Printers, Scanners, Extrenal Hard Disks etc.
After crossing the road and Satyam Cinema, we enter into a huge Market-complex behind Satyam Cinema. This is extremely fast moving region, where everyone is rushing towards various Computer Hardware shops to check out different products with respect to specifications, cost, new technologies etc.
