"Begum ka Takiya" during SUMMER THEATRE FESTIVAL 2010 @ National School of Drama, Delhi

Summer Theatre Festival has been stated since 18th May,2010 and "Begum ka Takiya" by Ranjit Kappor is first play of this festival. There are multiple shows of same play till 27th May and here are few photographs from the same play...

It is a story of two brothers, one ,Peera , is a simple and the other, Meera, is ambitious. The latter leaves for the city and gets involved with a courtesan who introduces him to new flavors of life. After achieving his dreams, he returns back to his village where his brother lives and what unfolds is a plethora of unexpected emotions and bitter sweet happenings.

Here is our lead character "Peera" in this play who is playing the role of simple brother. Peera is on left side with his wife on right ("Jirah to Khala" : This is what peera says after her conversation with Begum...) We have an amazing actor in this photograph who is playing a role to Chachaa, who is main decision maker of this village and has a unique way of expressing his thoughts...
